Alberto de Pedro – remixed

Alberto is participating in a show which opens this Wednesday 28th March in the old post office building in Plaza de Cibeles. Alberto’s part is called Raw. If you are in Madrid be sure to check it out, the details are below.

I’m a massive fan of Alberto and have had the luxury to hit the streets with him. Here are some “new” photos with some remixed ones too.

A walk with Alberto

Last weekend when Alberto de Pedro suggested a walk in Arganzuela I didn’t hesitate to get myself down there. Laughs, photos and good times all under the burning sun.

Not only did Alberto work on the exterior of the signal box but he also pasted photos of photos related to the Spanish Civil War in Aranjuez in the basement and the ground floor. These include “Evacuated from Madrid” by Brandt & “Unexploded bomb” by Ignacio Martán.

Alberto’s intervention forms part of the CARAVANArt exhibition taking place in Aranjuez until July 24th at the train station organised & commissioned by Israel Sousa.

PS. If you don’t want to end up with a dozen mosquito bites like I did, don’t wear shorts & use protection. It was still worth it tho!

It was hot, I was thirsty, but I had a fantastic time with Alberto, watching him in action, helping to saw some chipboard and above all enjoying the moment.

This 3D intervention entitled Alex, is truly mesmerising. It is part of the CARAVANArt exhibition taking place in Aranjuez until July 24th at the train station.

I wonder what the passengers think as they pass it on their train journey.

Alberto de Pedro – 55 Atocha street

I found myself with some free time midweek for the first time in ages. Alberto had sent me a photo text at 5am, no message just a photo of a door. I headed out to find it. And did. The photo is of Carabanchel prison where during Franco’s dictatorship a lot of political prisoners were kept. The door Alberto chose is the location of what became to be known as the Massacre of Atocha, where 5 lawyers were murdered in a politically motivated action in 1977 during Spain’s transition to a democracy.
